Two Belmont Abbey College students will serve probation for assault. In October, men’s basketball team members attended a Halloween party on campus. Officers later charged nine players with assaulting a female at that party. Charges against five players were later dropped.

BELMONT, N.C. — Two Belmont Abbey College students were convicted after a two-day bench trial in relation to an assault that occurred on Halloween night. Three students were on trial in front of District Court Judge Michael K. Lands. One student, Darryl Holloway, was acquitted of his charges.

The Intentional Catholic Student Residency Program will be open to Catholic undergraduates interning in the capital.

Two Belmont Abbey College students were convicted of assault charges from an incident on Halloween 2024; one got 30 days suspended sentence, the other 60 days.

The incident involving members of the school’s basketball team followed a Halloween party on campus at the college in Gaston County, WSOC-TV reported.
