Baker Mayfield led the Buccaneers to another thrilling finish, ensuring Tampa Bay's best start in 20 years.Chase McLaughlin kicked a 36-yard field goal as time expired and the undefeated Bucs rallied Sunday for a 29-27 victory over the New York Jets and the team's first 3-0 start since 2005.
They also made fun and unique NFL history in the process. In winning a third consecutive nail-biter, the Buccaneers became the first team in NFL history to win three games thanks to a go-ahead score in the final minute of the fourth quarter.
The Buccaneers beat the Jets 29-27 as Chase McLaughlin hit a 36-yard field goal as time expired. Baker Mayfield completed 19 of 29 attempts for 233 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions. The Bucs advance to an undefeated 3-0 record in the 2025 campaign.
Disaster struck right before halftime for the Jets. Taylor forced a ball to Garrett Wilson, and it was intercepted and returned for a touchdown by Jamel Dean, which increased the Buccaneers’ lead to 20-6 at halftime.
