Israel’s interception of the Madleen is not without precedent. On May 2, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition ship Conscience was seriously damaged during a drone attack while carrying humanitarian aid bound for Gaza. The attack ended its journey.
Activist Thunberg arrived home in Sweden late on Tuesday, June 10. Of the 12 activists aboard the boat, eight − including French-Palestinian European MP Rima Hassan − refused to leave Israel voluntarily and were brought before a detention review tribunal.
