The New York Mets have lost their ace, Kodai Senga, at least for the time being due to injury. This $13 million Orioles starter could be the best replacement.

While the New York Mets won their June 12 game against the Washington Nationals, the mood around the team after the game felt much more like a loss. This is because ace Kodai Senga suffered a hamstring strain while running to cover first base after a ground ball to Pete Alonso in the sixth inning.

If Senga lands on the injured list for an extended period of time, the Mets will likely slide Paul Blackburn back into the rotation and call up reliever. When asked about using Blackburn, Mendoza said the right-hander will be available out of the bullpen for their next series against the Rays, and that they “will go from there.”
