The Pentagon’s internal watchdog notified the defense secretary of a probe into whether he shared classified information last month in a Signal group chat that included a journalist.

Senior Trump administration officials have been accused of using the third-party app to discuss highly sensitive national security information.

The review started in response to a joint bipartisan request last week from leaders of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
