The Appaloosa horse, originally bred in the Inland northwest of the United States by the Nez Perce Indians, are a versatile breed often recognized for their spotted coat.

This year, the Davie resident was old enough and did compete for the title. She was named Miss Appaloosa America on June 30 during the national horse show in Oklahoma City.
