The 2026 NBA trade deadline is less than a week away, and the Boston Celtics will have some tough decisions to make ahead of it.
Simons has been in trade rumors ever since being acquired by the Celtics over the summer in the Jrue Holiday trade. It makes sense from multiple angles. He’s on an expiring $27.7 million contract, so he’s a natural trade piece to shed salary and potentially get under the luxury tax. Plus, he’s set to hit free agency this summer.
Neemias Queta leads the team in rebounding with 8.2 per game to go along with 10.2 points per game. The Celtics have also gotten solid production out of center Luka Garza (7.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game) and forward Sam Hauser (9.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per game).
It's been said that the Bulls and Celtics had discussed a trade involving Nikola Vucevic and Anfernee Simons well before.
