TRENTON, NJ – A lucky player in Somerset County is waking up hundreds of thousands of dollars richer after hitting the $634,313 Jersey Cash 5 jackpot on Friday night — the second-largest top prize won in the game so far this year.
The Jersey Cash 5 jackpot worth nearly $2 million was hit by a single ticket sold at a Middlesex County convenience store for Saturday night’s lottery drawing. The winner matched all five numbers drawn for the $1,997,829 top prize. The jackpot had gone 11 drawings without a jackpot winner.
The New Jersey Lottery is celebrating big wins: a million from East Orange and another $250,000 in Delran, showing that luck is in the air this January.
The winning ticket, worth $1 million, was sold at Hari Mini Store, located at 620 Thomas Boulevard in East Orange. The player matched the white ball numbers 05, 28, 34, 37, and 55. The red Power Ball was 17, and the multiplier was 3. The player did not select the Power Play option, which would have increased the prize to $2 million.
