The National Sea Grant College program was established by Congress in 1966 and works to create and maintain a healthy coastal environment and economy, according to NOAA’s Sea Grant program website.
The project is occurring through UConn’s collaboration with the Connecticut Sea Grant, a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration program that partners with universities around the country.
