An AccuWeather Alert will take effect Friday night for a storm system coming in from the Ohio River Valley that could bring widespread snow to New York City and the Tri-State area.

A major storm is lashing California with powerful winds and is set to deliver months’ worth of rain that could trigger debris flows and flash floods.

In Orange County, mandatory evacuation orders will take effect at 8 a.m. Wednesday near the Airport fire burn scar, affecting areas of: — Trabuco Creek, including the RC Airport, fire station, campground/park and school; — Hot Springs Canyon, including Lazy-W Ranch.

The Lehigh Valley won’t get a white Christmas, but residents should not have to wait long to see more snow as a winter storm could disrupt holiday travel plans.
