Clouds increase tonight and a large storm system will push into the region Saturday. Area-wide snow begins early and a 12 hour snowfall total through Saturday night should be about 2-4″. Temperatures climb through the overnight and that will likely change over the precipitation type to sleet or even freezing rain.

The NYC area saw another wintry mix of snow and rain​ overnight, setting up for a slippery Thursday morning commute.

Another winter storm will bring a wintry mix to New York City and the Tri-State area this weekend. Clouds will increase on Saturday morning, and snow will spread across the region by midday. Snowfall will continue for most of the area into the evening before a changeover to sleet and soaking rain as milder air arrives.

As of Thursday afternoon, Kines forecasts that this storm will reach the New York City area sometime in the first half of Saturday afternoon as snow, before transitioning to a wintry mix and rain later in the night.
