Hamas officials say they’ve begun talks with international mediators over the second phase of the ceasefire in Gaza that began last month.

A ceasefire is holding in Gaza as hostages have been handed over to Israel and Palestinian prisoners have been returned to Gaza.

Talks have started on the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire deal, the spokesperson for the Palestinian militant group Hamas said on Tuesday.

Mr. Netanyahu and the Biden administration clashed over the transfer of heavy weapons as the former president withheld shipments of 1,800 2,000-pound bombs and 1,700 500-pound bombs in May last year over Israel’s planned offensive in Rafah, Gaza’s southernmost city.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday he will discuss “victory over Hamas,” countering Iran, and expanding diplomatic relations with Arab countries in his meeting with President Trump.
