Sharaa​ is scheduled to visit Washington, D.C., on Nov. 10, Tom Barrack, the U.S. envoy to Syria and U.S. ambassador to Turkey, confirmed.

The map was a rare bipartisan compromise because Republicans, who control the state legislature, did not want to risk a referendum challenge from Democrats.
