The Liberty embarked on their first road trip of the season, with stops in Chicago and Indiana, and learned valuable lessons during their two wins.
The Liberty departed Indiana with two more players suffering injuries. First, Nyara Sabally was a pregame scratch due to a right knee injury. Then Leonie Fiebich sat out the final nine minutes off the first half after injuring her left shin following a collision with Indiana’s Lexie Hull.
Caitlin Clark threw up her arms, yelled at WNBA referees and punched the air in frustration after a controversial no-call cost her team a chance to knock off the defending champions Saturday. In the final seconds of the Indiana Fever's 90-88 loss to the reigning champion New York Liberty, Clark took the ball with a chance to tie or win the game.
The New York Liberty put forth a dominant effort against the Chicago Sky in the first road game of their championship defense.
Natasha Cloud is already feeling at home with the New York Liberty after her first two games of the season. Cloud led the Liberty in scoring on Thursday in their 99-74 win over the Chicago Sky.
