A suspect who led officers on a chase in Tampa was killed after they were forced to fire, police said. Jeremiah Bailey, 48, had an extensive criminal record and was released from Florida State Prison in 2022.

Tampa police said a man hit several people with a car before leading officers on a chase. Officers were able to stop the vehicle. When the man got out of the car, officers saw him reach for something.

A multi-hour search ended in an officer-involved shooting leaving multiple people injured, 2 dead and part of I-275 in Tampa shut down for hours.
