Goalie Nikke Kokko was called up from the Coachella Valley Firebirds to play in net for the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday night in St. Louis. The 6'3", 184 lb, 2022 NHL draft pick from Oulu, Finland, is the youngest goalie to make his NHL debut this season at 20 years and 347 days old.
The simple answer is that Bill Armstrong was not yet the GM of the Coyotes. He took that role in 2020. Daccord was drafted in 2015. In fact, Armstrong’s predecessor, Jon Chayka, also wasn’t in office at that point. It was three regimes ago, when Don Maloney was the boss.
Jared McCann scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period and the Seattle Kraken held on to beat the Florida Panthers 2-1.
Zack Bolduc scored twice and the St. Louis Blues beat the Seattle Kraken 7-2 on Tuesday night. Cam Fowler and Oskar Sundqvist each had a goal and two assists for the Blues, who won their fifth straight against the Kraken.
Ales Stezka was called up to the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday and will remain as the backup goaltender, with Philipp Grubauer continuing in the AHL with the Coachella Valley Firebirds.
