Jovahn Mathis has agreed to move to adult court as a youthful offender, meaning he'll continue to receive juvenile services until sentencing at 18.

Judge Dale E. Ho will weigh the request after the resignation of Manhattan’s U.S. attorney and her accusations of misconduct.

The move was preceded by wave of resignations of prosecutors, each refusing to sign the motion and some criticizing the Justice Department order to do so in scathing terms.
