Despite a somewhat disappointing 2024-25 season for Iowa basketball (16-15, 7-13 Big Ten), the Hawkeyes clinched themselves a spot in the 2025 Big Ten Tournament on Sunday afternoon with an 83-68 win-or-go-home regular-season finale victory at Nebraska from a raucous Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Neb.

Payton Sandfort scored 22 points, his brother Pryce knocked down four 3-pointers and Iowa pulled away in the second half to beat Nebraska 83-68 on Saturday, knocking the Cornhuskers out of the Big Ten Conference Tournament field and claiming the final slot for itself on the final day of the regular season.

Josh Dix and the Sandfort brothers’ hot shooting helped the Hawkeyes clinch a Big Ten tournament spot on the last day of the regular season.

The Huskers entered their regular season finale against Iowa in a win-or-go-home game. Despite the postseason on the line, Nebraska fell in the end.

The Iowa Hawkeyes came up with a victory that keeps their season alive on Sunday. Faced with a do-or-die contest at Nebraska where the winner was in the Big Ten Tournament and the loser was out, it was Iowa that responded and authored an 83-68 win over the Cornhuskers.
