Laurel Scott of Mount Vernon claimed the $1,000 A Week For Life prize for matching the first five numbers in the Sept. 22 Cash4Life drawing. The prize guarantees a minimum payout of $1 million. Scott opted to receive her winnings as a one-time lump sum payment totaling $651,000 after required withholdings, according to lottery officials.
According to the New York Lottery, the winning ticket was sold at El Patroson Deli, located at 1141 Washington Avenue in Brooklyn. The prize guarantees the winner a minimum of $1 million, paid as $1,000 a week for the rest of their life or in a lump sum equivalent.

The winning ticket was purchased at Valley Gas & Repair on West Merrick Road in Valley Stream. Cooke elected to receive the cash value of the minimum payout, resulting in a single lump sum payment of $612,240 after required withholdings, the website said.
