Slight changes to the big policy bill left the factory’s tax credits intact, according to the carmaker, which will use the batteries to make more affordable electric vehicles.

Ford Motor said Tuesday it believes its planned $3 billion Michigan electric vehicle battery plant, which is 60% complete, will qualify for production tax credits after a massive tax and budget bill revised the rules.

The Ford Power Promise, which covers a home Level 2 charger and installation, has been extended through Sept. 30.
