Colapinto is the second driver to crash during Q1 at Imola after Red Bull's Yuki Tsunoda was sent to the medical center for precautionary checks following a horrific crash which saw his RB21 flip. Gabriel Bortoleto, Liam Lawson, Nico Hulkenberg, Esteban Ocon, and Yuki Tsunoda were eliminated in Q1.

Alpine have confirmed that Franco Colapinto is “OK” after his crash in Emilia Romagna Grand Prix qualifying resulted in a trip to the medical centre at Imola. Colapinto is making his first appearance of the F1 2025 season at the Emilia Romagna GP this weekend having replaced Jack Doohan as Pierre Gasly’s team-mate earlier this month.

Qualifying for Formula 1's Imola Grand Prix has been red-flagged a second time for a crash by Alpine driver Franco Colapinto. On his final flyer at the end of Q1 Colapinto, who is making his 2025 season debut with Alpine this weekend, dipped his wheels onto the grass on the exit of Tamburello, the first corner sequence at Imola.
