Jim Irsay, longtime owner of the Indianapolis Colts, died at the age of 65 on Wednesday. Several NFL legends, including former Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, have already offered public condolences.
Late Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay was a hands-on decision-maker from the highest seat in the team's operation after learning under his father.
There’s just a realness that he was a very human person just like all of us,” said former 18-year NFL quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, who played for the Colts from 2013-15.
Through his love for football, classic rock and, most of all, Indianapolis, Irsay left an indelible impression and turned the Hoosier State into a football hotbed.
