While Young walked away as the hero, Wilson was the MVP of the night with her 38-point performance. With the win, the Aces are now on their way to the semifinals for a sixth consecutive season. They'll face the Fever with a shot at the WNBA Finals on the line.
After the No. 2-seed Las Vegas Aces ran away from the No. 7-seed Seattle Storm in Game 1 of their first-round WNBA playoff matchup, the series shifts to Seattle for Game 2 (10 p.m. ET, ESPN).
Las Vegas was fighting for a playoff spot in early August and coming off a record-setting 53-point home loss to Minnesota. Then the Aces seemingly out of nowhere reeled off 16 consecutive victories to close the regular season, tied for the second-longest streak in league history, to become the No. 2 seed.
The Minnesota Lynx, behind MVP-favorite Napheesa Collier, enter the WNBA playoffs as the favorite to win the fifth championship in franchise history and first since 2017, after losing in the finals last season to the New York Liberty. One more championship would make the Lynx the winningest franchise in WNBA history.
