The Toronto Maple Leafs did look different at times throughout their 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs run. However, the final result was the same as the Maple Leafs got booed off the Scotiabank Arena ice following a 6-1 drubbing at the hands of the Florida Panthers in Game 7.

When I say Toronto didn't stand a chance, I don't mean against Florida. Ordinarily, those Maple Leafs could absolutely beat the Panthers. Instead, what Toronto didn't stand a chance against was history. The Leafs were always going to blow this game. There was waaaaaay too much stink involved all around for Toronto to get it done.

For the Toronto Maple Leafs, the hope was that their incredible Game 6 performance, in which they rebounded from a putrid Game 5 stinker to shut out the Florida Panthers, would create a wave of momentum they could ride back home to finally advance to the Eastern Conference Final for the first time since 2002.
