President Trump said Sunday that it may not be possible for the US to broker an end to the war in Ukraine — as Russian dictator Vladimir Putin left the door open for a nuclear option in the conflict.

In an interview with NBC News, US President Donald Trump once again stated that he needs time to respond to whether Russian President Vladimir Putin is "tapping him along." During the conversation, Trump was reminded of a post in which he suggested that the Kremlin leader "is tapping him along" and may not want to end the war in Ukraine.

President Vladimir Putin said in remarks published on Sunday that Russia had sufficient strength and resources to take the war in Ukraine to its logical conclusion, though he hoped that there would be no need to use nuclear weapons.
