Some U.S. states could be treated with a northern lights display due a minor geomagnetic storm on the sun, according to space forecasts.

Wednesday night the “view line” of the lights lands right along part of the northeastern border of Oregon, meaning eagle-eyed night owls could see the aurora if the sky is clear.

If using a regular camera, photography experts told National Geographic to use wide-angle lenses, an aperture or F-stop of four or less and a focus set to the farthest possible setting. If using a smartphone, NOAA recommends turning on night mode and disabling flash.
