Britain and the European Union have agreed to a landmark deal aimed at “resetting” their post-Brexit relationship, easing restrictions on travel and work for hundreds of millions of people on the continent.

London and Brussels have agreed a post-Brexit reset of relations that Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer claimed would be worth £9bn to the UK, but he faced immediate claims he had “surrendered” by agreeing to keep British fishing grounds open to EU boats for 12 more years.

The agreement includes a new defense partnership and reduced checks on food and drink, removing some trade barriers after months of negotiations.
