Nick Olesen scored with 49 seconds left and Denmark stunned Canada 2-1 at the ice hockey world championship Thursday to advance to the semifinals. Denmark had tied it with 2:17 remaining when Nikolaj Ehlers scored through traffic in only his second game at the tournament following his Winnipeg Jets being eliminated from the NHL playoffs.

Denmark pulled off a stunning result at the world hockey championship, scoring a pair of goals in the final minutes of the third period to eliminate Canada with a 2-1 victory in the quarterfinals.

Canada sensationally crashed out of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Championship in the quarter-finals on Thursday, losing 2-1 to co-hosts Denmark in one of the biggest shocks in tournament history.
