All-American Jordan Woolery and the ninth-seeded UCLA Bruins open play Thursday in the Women's College World Series against coach Melyssa Lombardi and 16th-seeded Oregon Ducks at Devon Park in Oklahoma City.

The Oregon Ducks struck first but could not finish it off during a 4-2 loss to UCLA on Day One at the College Softball World Series in Oklahoma City.

EUGENE, Ore. — The Oregon softball team is playing in the Ducks' first women's College World Series since 2018. This is Oregon's first trip to Oklahoma City since head coach Melyssa Lombardi took over the program, and the Ducks are ready to live out their dream of playing on the biggest stage in college softball.

Four-star quarterback recruit Matt Ponatoski is one of the top quarterbacks available from the class of 2026. Ponatoski scheduled his official visit with the Oregon Ducks for June 20. The Ducks are also interested in Ponatoski for baseball.
