On Friday, the Wings dropped their fifth loss in the last six contests, losing to the Golden State Valkyries 86-76. Paige Bueckers, the center of Dallas’ rebuild, led the team with 17 points and six assists, although the losing is starting to gnaw at the team.

Throughout the course of her rookie season thus far in Dallas, Bueckers has played in 20 games. She has averaged 18.1 points per game to go along with 5.6 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.8 steals. In addition, she has shot 45 percent from the floor and 32.9 percent from three-point range.

The Valkyries shot 30.3% from the field in the first half and trailed by as much as 11. Janelle Salaün and Tiffany Hayes combined to score 16 points to keep the Valkyries within striking distance as the Wings took a 36-30 lead at halftime.
