The Minnesota Lynx pulled off a late push to beat the Phoenix Mercury 82-69 in Game 1 of the WNBA semifinals. The Lynx took advantage of the home environment, outscoring Phoenix 23-10 in the fourth quarter to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

The Lynx attempted 3s on each of their first five shots, missing three before Napheesa Collier knocked down the fourth attempt at 1:55 into the game. The Mercury struggled at times against Collier, who scored 10 points, including two 3-pointers.

Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson made history by earning her fourth WNBA Most Valuable Player award on Sunday. The seven-time All-Star beat out the Minnesota Lynx's Napheesa Collier, Phoenix Mercury's Alyssa Thomas,
