September 21 - A'ja Wilson is the WNBA's first four-time WNBA MVP. This is the second consecutive win for the Las Vegas Aces star, who also was named MVP in 2020 and 2022.
Shortly after the news came out, the WNBA posted a video of the Aces star receiving her MVP trophy back on Friday. While WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert was at the Las Vegas facility to give Wilson her trophy and a congratulatory speech, another special guest actually handed Wilson the trophy: her boyfriend and Heat star Bam Adebayo.
Napheesa Collier left the court at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on July 19 with a WNBA All-Star Game-record 36 points and the MVP trophy. The Minnesota Lynx forward looked likely to add a bigger honor at season's end: the league's MVP award.
The Minnesota Lynx host the Phoenix Mercury in a semifinal clash featuring MVP finalists Napheesa Collier and Alyssa Thomas.
The Las Vegas Aces faced the Indiana Fever at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Vegas on Sunday afternoon for Game 1 of the WNBA Semifinals.
