Beavers Slapping Their Tails! Beavers slap their tails as a warning sign when they sense there is danger. The beavers I follow are very accustomed to being watched and don’t often slap their tails because of people watching them. But every once in a while I catch them on camera slapping their tails, usually when a large dog is going by and they catch it scent.
