A first look at a new three-celled wetland we’ve just started creating near Bala. Work began just before the festive period, and this site will help manage runoff by slowing water before it reaches the river. As water spreads out, sediments settle, nutrients are absorbed by plants, and peak flows are reduced, protecting water quality downstream. This is an exciting project and a great example of working with natural processes. We’ll be sharing updates as the wetland takes shape, watch this space
